£700 donated to Over The Rainbow Shop in Romiley in support of Motor Neurone Disease

Romiley and Marple Lions Club have been serving the local community area for over 40 years. The Lions raise funds by helping "Father Christmas "at a local garden centre and have organised their popular Santa Dash for 10 years. They can be found at the Marple scout bonfire and various local summer fetes usually with their "Ball in the Bog" game. Each year the Lions support various local and national causes themselves, and International causes via Lions International. Last year's President, Lion Phil Daniels, chose Motor Neurone Disease as a nominated charity after he heard that his childhood best friend had the disease. The Lions have donated a total of £700.00 via " Over The Rainbow " which is run by Sue Thompson and her excellent team of volunteers. Lion Phil said " I really hope that the Mnd Association will eventually go on to find a cure, and in the future, a way of preventing this terrible disease

Sue said: ''Thank you so much to The Lions from all at "Over The Rainbow" and thank you for all the support you have shown us this year.. also by your countless donations of items for us to sell to raise money and also your massive donation of £700.00 from the bottom of my heart thankyou for helping us in our fight against Motor Neurone Disease.''
