During Romiley and Marple Lions Club's recent Christmas Dinner, Lion President Phil Daniels surprised two long-serving members with Melvyn Jones Fellowships. Lion Tony Hope joined the Club 31 years ago and has served as President, Social Secretary and a long-standing Father Christmas 'helper' at Wyevale and the Dragon Miniature Railway. Lion Harold Hill joined 27 years ago and has served as President, consistent helper at events and provides regular cover as 'Substitute Secretary'.

This is the highest award that can be given to a Lion and is in recognition of our Club's contributions made to the Lions Clubs International Foundation in memory of Melvyn Jones the founder member of Lions.

Lion Phil said he was delighted to be able to organise the presentation and thanked Lions Tony and Harold for their magnificent service. Lion Phil also thanked the club members for recognising the importance of their continued support of the LCIF Foundation.
