Lion Cliff Bagnall Remembered!

Lion Cliff Bagnall MJF has been remembered locally by Romiley and Marple Lions Club dedicating a planter on Romiley Station in his name. The planter has been arranged with the help and support Friends Of Romiley Station. Two other local donations have been made in Lion Cliff's name namely £200 to the ARC CIC Agricultural Centre in Romiley and £200 to Rueben's Retreat in Glossop. All monies were very kindly raised by Cliff's family in lieu of flowers at his funeral.

Lion Cliff joined Romiley and Marple Lions Club in 1999 after many years service with Stockport Lions. Cliff served as President in 2001-2 and was an active and involved member of Lions Clubs for over 30 years. As recognition for his sterling service, Cliff was presented with a Melvyn Jones Fellowship in 2007. This is the highest award possible from Lions Club International and MJF members’
names appear on a ‘roll of honour’ daily at Lions HQ in Oakbrook USA.

The Agricultural and Rural Centre is a specialist Not-For-Profit Centre in Romiley. It is a farm for anybody who has a disability, mental health issue or is socially disadvantaged due to age, gender, culture, poverty or any other reason. The ARC-CIC offers participants the opportunity to work with animals and on the land.

The primary goal of Reuben’s Retreat is to create a sanctuary that will be a home-from-home for families coping with the serious illness of a child, providing respite breaks and the chance to build happy memories.

They already provide support and counselling for Mums, Dads and siblings of a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening illness and for those who have lost their precious child, brother or sister.

THEIR MISSION – to relieve the distress of families who have suffered the bereavement of a child or have a child suffering from a life limiting/threatening illness

THEIR VISION – to renovate our countryside respite bereavement support and counselling at their centre in Glossop, North West England

REUBEN’S LEGACY – ‘a place to Relax, Recharge, Remember, Rebuild, built on an army of love and compassion’.

A presentation will take place at Rueben's Retreat - photo to follow . . .
